4 TNI Personnel Wounded When Intercepted By KKB In Bintang Mountains
JAKARTA - As many as four members of the National Army (TNI) who came from Infantry Battalion 403/WP and Mobile Task Force Infantry Battalion 310/KK suffered gunshot wounds when confronted by an armed criminal group (KKB) while crossing wooden bridge 2, Yapimakot Village, Serambakon District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, Tuesday evening, May 18.
"It is true that there was an incident in Pegbin Regency which caused four TNI personnel who were members of the security task force for areas prone to injuries," said Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf Christian Ireuw, who was contacted by Antara from Jayapura, Wednesday, May 19.
Meanwhile, efforts to catch the KKB continued. Previously, a member of the Nemangkawi Task Force was injured in a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Makki village, Puncak Regency, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday, May 18.

It was explained that Makki was one of the villages that became the base of the KKB so that members of the Nemangkawi Task Force tried to approach and enter. In the village, it was reported that there were several KKB leaders such as Lingkar, Seltius Waker, and Peni Murib.
"The firefight was reported to have lasted until noon," said Inspector General of Police Fakhiri, adding that currently, the Nemangkawi law enforcement task force was still carrying out cleaning in Mayuberi village.
Mayuberi village was previously controlled by KKB, said Inspector General of Police Fakhiri.
