BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police officially opened a police line at the entrance to the Bandung Zoo (Bandung Zoo) after being closed since August 6, 2025.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Hendra Rocmawan, revealed that his party is still coordinating with stakeholders regarding the reopening of Bandung Zoo operations.
"The policy structure of the Regional Police Chief is related to the security and opening of the police, where the legal issues are handled by the police," said Hendra as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 15.
After the opening of the police line, Hendra asked the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation (YMT) together with the Bandung City Government to immediately take a stand regarding the management of Bandung Zoo, because it remembers the animals and workers who live there.
"But regarding socio-economics, the local government provides policies and please for those who have a good management interest," he said.
He hopes that all elements that have an interest in being wise in managing Bandung Zoo, without sacrificing the animals inside.
"Similarly, the Kapolda's policy which strongly provides problemSOlving, the solution is limited to our authority. Please manage properly without any disputes and quarrels," he said.
The Bandung Zoo is currently closed after being designated as evidence of a corruption case that is being tried with the defendants including R. Bisma Bratakoesoema and Sri Devi, as well as former Bandung City Secretary Yossi Irianto in different case files.
