Denmark Open 2025: Rian/Rahmat Win Against Winning Two In Debut Match

JAKARTA Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat managed to mark their debut as a couple by defeating second seed Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik in the first round of the Denmark Open 2025.

The pair locked down the victory of two straight games 21-17 and 21-13 over the Malaysian pair to reach the second round of the tournament at Jyske Bank Arena on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Aaron/Soh are one of the pairs that have appeared consistent this year. They won the Thailand Open, Asian Championships, Singapore Open, and three runners-up events.

"We played without a burden. Because the partner is new, so it seems that the opponent doesn't know our pattern of play. We can play more comfortably and reduce making our own mistakes," said Rian.

This is the third tournament Rian has had with two different couples. Previously, when he appeared at the China Masters and the Korea Open 2025 in September, he played with Yeremia Rambitan.

The results there were far from satisfactory because all ran aground in the first half. While in China they lost against Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin (Malaysia), while in Korea they were beaten by Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi (Japan).

"We both know the strengths and weaknesses of both yesterday with Yeremia and Rahmat. Qualityily, both of them are good, not much different. My credit today is for Rahmat who played quite well," said Rian.

Rian/Rahmat are Indonesia's third men's doubles who qualified for the second round. They followed Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
