Kia Targets Threefold Electric Car Production In Europe
JAKARTA - South Korean manufacturer Kia is very serious about working on the European automotive market, by not only presenting new products but also expanding production capacity.
Quoting from the ArenaEV page, Wednesday, October 15, Kia recently launched its first electric vehicle manufactured in Europe, EV4, at Zilina's factory in Slovakia and plans to triple its BEV production in the next two years.
The Kia factory in Zilina has a production capacity of around 320,000 vehicles per year, and this figure can be increased to 350,000 if it operates optimally.
Meanwhile, by 2027 the Korean automaker plans to produce more than 80,000 EV4 units and 100,000 EV2 units at the plant.

Kia's main goal is to increase the production of EV2 and EV4 vehicles to 100,000 units worldwide by 2027. This number will be enough to keep its global supply chain full and make the model profitable.
Kia's decision was taken after a very strong BEV sale in August and positive feedback from local media as well as customers against the recently launched EV4.
Apart from EV4, another model, namely EV3, seems to be the driving force for growth in Europe, with sales reaching 45,269 units over the past eight months. Is Kia's move right?
