Carlos Santana Denies Rumors Of Bad Bunny's Rejection Appearing At The Super Bowl Halftime Show

JAKARTA - World music legend Carlos Santana has firmly denied rumors calling him against the appointment of Bad Bunny as the main performer for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Meanwhile, wild rumors have gone viral on social media, since Bad Bunny was announced to lead the Super Bowl stage in February next year. Some of the rumors are even thought to have been produced by artificial intelligence or AI.

Santana became one of the victims of the rumors made by AI. An upload even claimed that Santana filed a petition for the singer 'Perfumito Nuevo' to be replaced from the grand sporting event.

Through an official statement, Santana and her manager firmly dismissed all slanted issues about the rejection of Bad Bunny. The manager specifically highlighted the rampant use of AI which is now accelerating the spread of false information.

"AI has accelerated the spread of misinformation, making it even more difficult for the truth to penetrate noise. Don't depend on random or unverified posts even media that have good intentions can be wrong," said Santana's manager, quoted by Billboard, Wednesday, October 15.

Meanwhile, Santana herself in her statement congratulated the Bad Bunny who was chosen to appear next year.

I congratulate and celebrate the success of Bad Bunny and its current position in the eyes of the world and in the Super Bowl. I feel a complete unity with what he is doing because we are here to use art as a complement and bring the world closer to harmony and unity," Santana said.

"However, we live in times of fear, division, segregation, superiority, and inferiority. Fear is the dominant feeling right now," he continued. It's fear that motivates stupid people to put words in my mouth saying that I don't want Bad Bunny to be represented in the Super Bowl. I never said that, never will.

Furthermore, the 78-year-old musician stated that his heart is in total harmony with Bad Bunny, and he wants to participate in celebrating his successes, his victories, and his phenomenal achievements.

We live in a time when hostile forces like to create conflict, separation, and division, because hostile forces don't like unity, harmony, unity, and joy. They want people to be miserable and spend too much time in their minds," said the legend.

"I spend a lot of time in my heart, and in my heart, I celebrate Bad Bunny. I can't stop playing the song 'Monaco' There's something really magical about that song," concluded Santana.

Despite Santana's rebuttal, the appointment of Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl has indeed sparked a wave of criticism from the right-wing community in the United States. They argue that the rapper, although from Puerto Rico, who is an American territory, should not appear in the sporting event.
