Not Only Fried Chicken, Students In Gorontalo Ask MBG Menu To Be Varied

GORONTALO - Teachers and students at Elementary School (SDN) 1 Tilamuta, Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo, appreciates the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) and hopes that the menu obtained can be more varied.

"We are grateful for being one of the beneficiaries schools for the MBG Program in Boalemo Regency," said Principal Foni N Masiaga in Gorontalo, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 15.

His party received well the process of measuring the nutritional status of MBG recipient students by the Gorontalo Provincial Health Office (Dinkes).

According to Foni, this program has a positive impact on students, one of which is because most students are no longer bringing pocket money to school.

They (students) are looking forward to distributing MBG food prepared every day. However, he said, there were still a small number of students who chose to bring supplies from home.

"The challenge is that some students come from civil servants' families, so some students don't want to eat food from MBG. They bring their own provisions. But most of the students sometimes no one brings pocket money anymore. They already believe in accepting this MBG," said Foni.

In its implementation, the school has established a food inspection system before it is distributed to students. Picket teachers and homeroom teachers are tasked with tasting food first to ensure quality, safety and cleanliness.

"We at SDN 1 have implemented a program, where the teacher must first taste it. Can this be eaten by the child, otherwise this must be reported," he said.

Foni further hopes that the food menu in the MBG Program can be more varied. He assessed that variations in cooking will make children more excited to eat the food served.

"Hopefully from us, the menu should change because often in four consecutive days the food is chicken meat, then fried, continues like that," he said.

The MBG program, he continued, is expected to continue as an effort to support the fulfillment of balanced nutrition for students, as well as to establish healthy eating habits from an early age in the school environment.
