Negotiations For UN DK Resolution Regarding President Trump's Proposal In Central Gaza Take Place

JAKARTA - German Foreign Minister has again called for a resolution from the UN Security Council in support of US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

Speaking at a press conference during a visit to Romania, Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said he had the support of Russia and China for the plan, which was very important to the success of implementation.

"As far as I know, initial negotiations are also ongoing with Russia and China regarding a joint resolution. I hope this will work," said Foreign Minister Wadephul, quoted from Anadolu, October 14.

"Because we need a legal framework for the deployment of peacekeepers from various countries in the Gaza Strip," he said.

Foreign Minister Wadephul further urged members of the UN Security Council to take a constructive approach, emphasizing that the security and dismantling components of Hamas weapons are essential to implementing the plan.

"I am still optimistic that this process will be successful because the commitment of all parties involved so far remains strong," he said.

"We have to take advantage of this momentum together," said Foreign Minister Wadephul.

It is known that President Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a high-level meeting in the resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday, bringing together world leaders to garner international support for President Trump's proposed Gaza ceasefire plan.

In the first phase of the plan, Hamas released 20 Israeli prisoners, while Israel released nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

As part of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces were withdrawn from densely populated areas, and humanitarian aid began arriving in the Gaza Strip.

The next stages include Hamas demilitarization, the establishment of a temporary technocratic government mechanism, and the deployment of the International Stabilization Forces (ISF) to ensure border security.
