Gaza Reconstruction Needs Funds Of Up To 70 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - The reconstruction of the Gaza Strip is estimated to require funding of US$70 billion (equivalent to around Rp1,085 trillion).

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Tuesday, October 14, the Special Representative for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for Assistance to the Palestinian People, Jaco Cilliers said UNDP had not been able to estimate the timeframe for rebuilding the region because it depended heavily on the amount of funds received.

But he warned the process could take some time "dept."

According to UNDP estimates, about 50 million tons of debris must be removed throughout Gaza, and there may still be bodies of Palestinians buried under the rubble.
