Foreign Minister Sugiono Affirms Since The Beginning President Prabowo And Indonesian Delegation Did Not Plan To Go To Israel

JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed that since the beginning President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian delegation had no plans to visit Israel, the focus of the high-level conference in Egypt which was held on Monday.

Speaking at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta after accompanying President Prabowo, Foreign Minister Sugiono denied the news circulating that the President of the Republic of Indonesia would leave for Israel after the meeting in Egypt.

"There is no (planned visit to Israel). This is proof that we are returning today," said the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Tuesday, October 14.

Foreign Minister Sugiono further said President Prabowo and his delegation were focused on attending and witnessing the signing of a document on the Gaza peace agreement with leaders from various countries.

"Yesterday we all focused on the signing ceremony, which was actually quite a long process. From 14.00 the event was until around 18.00 p.m. or 19.00 p.m.," explained the Foreign Minister.

Foreign Minister Sugiono explained that the Peace Summit in Egypt was an important moment in stopping conflicts in Gaza, concrete steps that had been taken and Indonesia was also involved in it.

President Prabowo's participation in the Peace Summit in Egypt is also a form of world confidence in Indonesia, which has been obtained for Indonesia's consistency so far in fighting for peace.

"I think this is a form of great trust and concern from the international community for Indonesia's position and role as a country that consistently fights for world peace," he explained.

Indonesia's participation in this summit is not only symbolic, but also shows Indonesia's consistency in supporting Palestinian independence and sovereignty.

In the future, Foreign Minister Sugiono said the follow-up to the results of the Peace Summit in Egypt would be discussed further in detail.

Indonesia, said the Foreign Minister, is always ready to contribute to maintaining peace in Gaza.

"Each of these steps will have a detailed discussion of its modalities, then other things that need to be taken into account and considered," he said.
