Not RPTRA, Pramono Chooses To Build A Small Park To Add RTH In Jakarta
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will build small-scale parks to increase the portion of green open space (RTH) in Jakarta.
Pramono chose this small park instead of providing land to build a child-friendly integrated public space (RPTRA). In the past, the construction of RPTRA in Jakarta was intensified by former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).
"I am now building small parks, like last week which I inaugurated in Bugar Park," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Tuesday, October 14.
The DKI Provincial Government will continue to increase the provision and arrangement of small parks in various regions, such as North Jakarta, West Jakarta, to South Jakarta.
"Right now, parks that don't need to be too wide always have to be. Say it's only 3,000, 5,000, but what's important is the benefit of being a green open space and becoming a park for Jakarta children to play," said Pramono.

Pramono admitted that the composition of the area of green open space in Jakarta did not comply with the provisions. In Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning, each city is required to have a minimum of 30 percent of green open space from its area.
Therefore, Pramono emphasized that he would continue to increase the proportion of green open space in Jakarta as well as add space for community interaction.
"So the RPTRA in Jakarta is indeed lacking, but there has been an increase even though it is a little. When the beginning in my government was 5.7 percent, now maybe 6 comas (all percent) more, yes," said Pramono.
"If there are more and more like this, then what the Time Out survey on Jakarta's happy city number 18 has turned out to be true. Because it is a place for many people to interact," he concluded.
