Pramono Targets The Mangkrak Monorel Pole To Be Dismantled In January 2026

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung targets the government to start dismantling stalled monorail poles along Jalan HR Rasuna Said and the Senayan area.

Pramono emphasized that currently the DKI Provincial Government is still processing a number of preparations so that the demolition of abandoned assets will not become a problem in the future.

"For monorail, please pray for it, hopefully I will finish it soon. Anyway, pray for next January we will start cleaning up," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 14.

Since last May, Pramono admitted that he began to be disturbed by the existence of monolified pillars that were stalled on the streets. According to him, this destroys the beauty of Jakarta.

Since the monorel project stopped in the middle of the road until now, Jakarta has changed leadership of the governor many times. However, no resolution has been made from the existence of the "bangkai" of the pilepole.

"If all of you pass by Rasuna Said and Senayan. There are columns for monorils that to this day don't want to be resolved," said Pramono at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 20.

"For the Jakarta government, this is very disturbing. So it's not the monorail that continues, but what will the unstable pillars do? Is it cleaned? What is it made?" Pramono continued.

Pramono also had time to reveal the reason why until now the DKI Provincial Government has not demolished the stalled monorel pole along Jalan HR Rasuna Said and the Senayan area.

After the discourse on dismantling the pole was widely discussed, Pramono admitted that there were parties who appeared and wanted to interfere.

"Usually, in Jakarta, if there is a desire to resolve it, people who used to feel they had a contribution appear. But that's what I don't care about," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, July 23.

Pramono explained that the stalled monorel project had a legal case that could not be followed up carelessly. In the court's decision, the assets of the monorel pole were declared to belong to Adhi Karya so that the state-owned company could dismantle it.

However, Pramono did not rule out the DKI Provincial Government's opportunity to help Adhi Karya to participate in dismantling the stalled monol pole when needed. Therefore, Pramono asked for advice from the authorities for handling it so that it was dragged into the legal case from the demolition of the monorail.
