Gold Mine Collapses In Venezuela, 14 People Died

JAKARTA - A total of 14 people died after the gold mine collapsed in El Callao City in southern Venezuela following heavy rains in the region.

The National Risk System team said recovery efforts were ongoing, with bodies found in three separate mine pits.

"The first stage of this work is pumping out all the holes in the sector to reduce water level, and then evaluating rescue efforts," the emergency response official said in a post on social media.
