"Yesterday the suspicion of fake eggs was wrong. Regarding the suspected fake eggs, we have checked with the laboratory and coordinated with the relevant agencies that these eggs actually came out of chickens," said Head of the Detective and Narcotics Unit at the Kediri Police, Girindra Wardana, in Kediri, as reported by Antara. He said the eggs purchased had also been confirmed to the seller, a resident of Kediri. The seller admitted to taking the chicken eggs at his parents' farm in Blitar. From the reports received, the eggs were for consumption.
"We examined the witness that the eggs were really for consumption. Then those uploaded on social media have also clarified," he said.
He added that the suspicion was that the eggs were damaged possibly from the way they were stored in the refrigerator. It is possible that the temperature in the refrigerator is unstable and is causing the eggs to spoil. In addition, the eggs have long been stored in the refrigerator.
"The buyer buys eggs at the market and then takes them home to store them in the refrigerator. After they are consumed, he (the buyer) sees them like crystals, the ice is thought to be fake. In fact, we are investigating, tracing the seller, the source is for consumption," he said.
The video of the alleged fake egg went viral on a social network uploaded by LA, a housewife from Ngadisimo Village, Kediri City.
Head of Ngadisimo Urban Village, Kediri, Ahmad Sofwan Hadawi, admitted that he had visited the LA house regarding the alleged fake egg. According to LA, the eggs were purchased for Rp. 19 thousand per kilogram. With this suspicion, the incident was finally reported to the Kediri City Police.
Head of the Public Health, Veterinary, Management and Marketing Section of the Food and Animal Husbandry Service of Kediri City, Pujiono, said that from the results of the inspection that had been carried out, the eggs were genuine. "It was originally eggs, which were produced by chickens," said Pujiono.
Currently, the case has been handled by the Kediri Kota Police, but the police did not determine the status of a suspect in the case. In addition, the video maker related to the egg has also uploaded a video clarifying the chicken egg.
