After The Trial, The U-23 Indonesian National Team Squad Will BeLOCKed To 28 Players
JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, will reduce the team squad to 28 players to appear at the 2025 SEA Games. The decision was taken after the Garuda Muda squad underwent two test agendas against India U-23.
The plan to reduce the number of players will be implemented in the training camp for the November 2025 period. In the October 2025 period, Indra Sjafri summoned 32 names out of 50 names that had been registered.
Later, players who have not been summoned in the camp this time will be summoned in November 2025. Players selected from the October 2025 selection will also be recalled.
"We will coordinate from these 32, which players we will recruit. Then new players, including those who play abroad, who will be called."

"However, we call a maximum of 28 in the first week. We will gradually shrink it per week. Therefore, I ask that for 10 days there will be a trial so that we can investigate, only the second trial," said Indra after the match against India, quoted on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
For the second training camp agenda, the plan will take place starting November 8, 2025. In the camp, two test matches are also scheduled. Only the answer, the matter of the opponent to be faced is still under investigation.
It is possible that on the second trial agenda later, players who take part abroad such as Marselino Ferdinand, Ivar Jenner, and Mario Zijlstra will also be summoned in the second phase.
However, they will join if they get permission from their club. Because the 2025 SEA Games are not included in the FIFA agenda, the club has the right to refuse. Therefore, PSSI diplomacy is key.
"The important thing is, we agree with PSSI that I take this responsibility to be supported together. Mr. Chairman of PSSI (Erick Thohir) agrees, he will support us."
"Including how we communicate with the club so that the players we want will be allowed later, then the second will be played," said the coach from West Sumatra.
