Woodball Targeted To Be A Gold Medal Barn At The 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA The woodball sports (sports) are targeted to become a gold medal barn for Indonesia in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand which will take place at the end of this year.

Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent, Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, is very confident in the target because Indonesia is the world champion of this sport.

"We believe woodball can be one of the gold barns for the Indonesian team in Thailand later," said Bayu during a visit to the woodball national training center (pelatnas) on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Woodball is the first sport to be competed in the multi-pronged sports event of Southeast Asian countries.

Bayu said that before leaving for the SEA Games, the Indonesianwoodball team will take part in the Hong Kong Open on October 17-20, 2025, as a warm-up and strategic testing event.

"Let's pray together thatwoodball can present a gold medal for Indonesia and show that we are ready to compete at the highest level," he said.

Woodball will compete in six events (three fairway numbers and three stroke numbers) for the sons. Indonesia will send as many as 23 athletes to Thailand later.

Chairman of the Indonesian Woodball Great Association (PB IWbA), Aang Sunadji, also ensured that Indonesia came with high confidence after winning the world title in Thailand some time ago.

"Thailand is certainly the main opponent to watch out for because they are the host and have a strong tradition in this branch," he said.

The 2025 SEA Games will take place on 9-20 December. A total of 50 sports and 574 match numbers will be contested there.
