Trying Xpeng X9's Highest Direct Variant, Premium Electricity MPV With Official Class Comfort

JAKARTA Competing in the Indonesian automotive market, Xpeng immediately fielded the champion MPV which is full of luxury, Xpeng X9. This electric car from China offers premium class comfort, like an official car, with a myriad of high-tech features.

The VOI team had the opportunity to immediately try Xpeng X9 on Monday, October 13, with the Jakarta 'Bogor route.

This car is not only a matter of performance and technology, but also how each detail is designed to provide comfort and a sense of security on every trip," said Vice President of Marketing Xpeng Indonesia Hari Arifianto.

The unit tested by VOI is the highest variant of X9 Pro+, measuring a length of 5,293 mm, a width of 1,988 mm, a height of 1,785 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. Even though the body is a bong, Xpeng X9 still feels agile thanks to the Rear Wheel Steering (RWS) system which allows the rear wheel to turn up to 5 degrees, resulting in a rotating radius of only 5.4 meters. It feels like driving a compact car on a narrow road.

There are several driving modes such as Eco, Normal, and Sport, as well as modes that can be adjusted to driver preferences. In Sport mode, the air suspension automatically drops to the second level from below to increase stability. Thanks to the 800V XPower platform and the dual-chamber air suspension system intelligent, the driver can also adjust the vehicle height as needed.

In terms of safety, Xpeng X9 is equipped with an XPILOT Assist system with complete ADAS support that allows semi-autonomous functions, helping drivers stay safe and comfortable during the trip.

When moving to the passenger seat, comfort feels maximal. The interior with the theme Starship Universe Cockpit presents zero-gravity space sofas, electrically regulated third row seats, and massage features in the first and second rows.

The luxury sensation is also reinforced by a large 21.4-inch display, a multifunctional refrigerator (cold/hot), an XFree Breath Microclite air system, and an audio premium Xopera 23-peaker surround sound. The cabin felt relieved with an area of 7.7 m2 and a baggage room of up to 2.554 liters. Not to forget, karaoke features with built-in microphones add entertainment on the way.

Xpeng X9 is an ultra-intelligent electric MPV with the concept of 'Living Space'. This car uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that presents smart cockpits that are responsive and adaptive to user habits.

One of the most interesting features is automatic parking. Drivers simply make sure the parking space is available, follow the instructions on the screen, then let the system work. The car will park itself automatically without the need to touch the pedal or steering. This feature can also be activated via a smartphone connected to the Xpeng application.

For performance, Xpeng X9 is equipped with a 101.5 kWh battery that can cover a distance of up to 690 km (NEDC) or 590 km (WLTP) in one full charge. The fast charging process from 10 to 80 percent only takes about 20 minutes, making it ideal for long-distance travel without worrying about draining.

Regarding the price, the Xpeng X9 Standard Range Pro is priced at IDR 990 million, the Long Range Pro is around IDR 1.059 billion, and the Long Range Pro+ 'unit that VOI is trying to sell for IDR 1.1 billion.
