The First Electric Car Of Hyundai Collaboration In China, Elexio EO, Will Launch Soon

Hyundai's first electric car in China immediately launched from the production line in the middle of this month, the results of a collaboration between Hyundai and local Beijing partners.

Quoting from the CarNewsChina page, Tuesday, September 14, the model will also open pre-sales on October 16, coinciding with the moment when the first unit is released from the production line.

Elexio EO is the first pure electric SUV from a joint venture, built on Hyundai's E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) platform. The car is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip and offers a maximum range of 722 km based on CLTC testing.

By design, the Flexio EO is inspired by the Morse code letter H consisting of four points, reflected in the unique square headlights containing 152 LED units. From the side side, the roof lines decrease from pillar-B to back with hidden door handles and distinctive D-pilar designs.

The trim behind the rear window is colored in contrast and connected to the back roof, creating interesting visual effects. High brake light is made segmented, while rearview mirror cameras are neatly integrated on the roof.

Speaking of dimension, Elexio EO has a length of 4,615 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,675 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. There are seven exterior color choices: purple, silver, pearly white, blue, whitestery, black, and gray.

This model comes in two driving configurations, FWD and AWD. The FWD variant is equipped with a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor, while the AWD version adds a 73 kW (98 hp) rear motorbike.

Referring to China's MIIT data, the ELxio EO is available in three choices of 64.2 kWh, 72.8 kWh, and 88.1 kWh batteries with CLTC coverage ranges ranging from 518 km to 722 km. The fast charging feature allows charging from 30 to 80 percent in just 27 minutes.

Entering the cabin, the interior looks futuristic with a 27-inch 4K resolution integrated screen and a 1.000 cd/m2 luminosity, including the main screen and entertainment screen for the front passenger. The center console is now without physical buttons, equipped with a standard Head-Up Display (HUD), as well as 29 storage spaces on various cabin sides.

As part of China's In China, for China, and to the world' strategy, Beijing-Hyundai will launch two to three new energy models each year over the next four years, including sedans, SUVs, and MPVs with BEV, PHEV, and EV technology.
