KPK Survey: Budget Deviations Still Rise At Ministries, Institutions, And Local Governments
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said there were a number of corruption-prone points in the budget management sector based on the 2024 Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI). Deviations still occur in ministries, institutions, and local governments.
"There are still 390,754 internal respondents in ministries, institutions, and local governments who think that the practice of budget irregularities often occurs in their agencies," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, October 14.
Budi said 57 percent of respondents said the budget was often misused for personal gain. "In addition, 56 percent of respondents think that there are still employees who receive honorariums or official travel fees that are not in accordance with conditions in the field," he said.
Another point prone to corruption that SPI has is an official travel report that does not match reality. Budi said this finding was based on the experience of 48 respondents.
"Not only that, 43 percent of respondents claimed to know about the granting of gratuities or in return as a way to get promotions or transfers of positions," he said.
This condition is said to show improvement on a massive scale. Maintaining integrity should be the awareness of all parties, not just jargon.
"Integrity is not only a matter of policy, but also daily behavior in the workplace. The results of the SPI are a reflection of institutional integrity, as well as a reflection material for each agency to improve the work system and culture together," said Budi.
Furthermore, the KPK hopes that the results of the 2024 SPI will be an improvement for ministries, institutions, and local governments. Budi said, his institution is sure to be ready to provide assistance for system improvement.
"KPK is not only present to take action, but also to assist every government agency to improve governance through supervision coordination tasks," he said.
"SPI notes must be seen as an early warning, so that they can produce concrete and solution improvement evaluations of the problems they face," continued Budi.

KPK also invites public participation as public support which will be an important basis for strengthening clean governance, accountability, and integrity," concluded Budi.
