Viral Car Video Overtaken > Tot Tot Wuk Wuk, Sultan HB X Not Used To Being Escorted

YOGYAKARTA - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X admitted that he was used to not using vehicle escorts.

"Yes, I used to 'no' escorts if not official events. 'Wong' I can 'cheap' myself too," said Sultan HB X as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 13.

This was conveyed by the Sultan when asked for a response about a viral video on social media showing his car being overtaken by a group of vehicles traveling on the highway.

In the footage taken on Wednesday (8/10), the Sultan's car with license plate number AB 10 HBX seemed to stop at a red light with other motorists, while the group with police escorts seemed to be driving.

The Sultan, who is also the King of the Yogyakarta Palace, emphasized that there was no special reason behind his habit.

"Yes, you don't need to. Except for official events," he said.

He also explained that the use of private cars in daily activities is not something that needs to be questioned.

"Yes, you can use AB 1 for official events. That's all," said Ngarsa Dalem, Sultan HB X's nickname.

According to him, the hectic discussion on social media about his unmanned vehicle does not need to be exaggerated.

"Why is it questioned? It doesn't need to be questioned. Use an escort or not, it's normal," he said.
