Synergy PalmCo And Ministry Of Agriculture Print Young Talents Plantation With Integrity Through PATEN Scholarships
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture through the Directorate General of Plantation together with PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PalmCo) is committed to developing plantation sector human resources (HR). This commitment is demonstrated through the PalmCo Talent Pipeline Program (PATEN) scholarship program.
Where as many as 15 selected students from the Indonesian Palm Oil Technology Institute (ITSI) Medan and the Yogyakarta LPP Polytechnic received support to continue their education and career preparation in the palm oil industry.
The scholarship handover was made on Friday, October 10.
President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo, Jatmiko Krisna Santosa, explained that the PATEN program is part of the company's strategy to produce superior cadres who are ready to answer the dynamics of the national palm oil industry.
Of the 153 registrants, only 15 students passed the rigorous selection, showing the tight competition as well as the great potential of the younger generation in the plantation sector.
"Through PATEN, we want to build talents who not only have technical expertise, but also strong character and social awareness," said Jatmiko in his statement.
He emphasized that the values of integrity, discipline, and religio are the main foundations in forming competitive future plantation workers.
According to Jatmiko, the transformation of the sustainable palm oil industry can only be achieved with strong and adaptive human resources, which can encourage productivity, efficiency, and innovation.
Apart from Jatmiko, the scholarship handover was also attended by the Director General of Plantations at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture Abdul Roni Appoint, HR & IT Director Suhendri and PalmCo management, as well as representatives of the Yogyakarta Plantation Education Foundation (YPPY).
This scholarship program is expected to be a strong initial foothold in producing experts who are able to oversee the progress of the national plantation industry as a pillar of food and energy security.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Ministry of Agriculture Plantations, Abdul Roni Lift emphasized that the construction of plantation human resources is not only focused on technical aspects, but also on character formation and integrity.
Many can learn theory, but not all are able to build strong characters. Housing education must form an honest, disciplined, and with integrity person, "he said.
Abdul Roni also encouraged students to take PATEN scholarship opportunities seriously. According to him, success is not solely determined by academic abilities, but also by perseverance, a spirit of learning, and a positive attitude facing challenges.
"Don't be afraid to fail and don't stop dreaming. Success comes from continuous self-improvement efforts," he continued.

The scholarship recipients receive training, guidance, and the opportunity to work in official ties in the work environment of one of the largest palm oil companies in the world.

He also emphasized that this program is in line with the value of AKHLAK which is the work culture of SOEs, namely Amanah, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative.
