Ukrainian PM To Visit Washington To Discuss Military Support And Russian Sanctions

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko will visit Washington to discuss strengthening Kyiv's defense and energy resistance.

Ukraine is seeking further support from the US for its war efforts against Russia, as Kremlin forces step up attacks on energy facilities across the country and continue to advance on the battlefield.

Presidential Chief of Staff Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Andriy Yermak said the two sides would also discuss stronger sanctions against Russia, an action Zelenskyy said was important to force Moscow to the negotiating table.

"The final goal remains the same fair and eternal peace!" he wrote as quoted by Reuters, Monday, October 13.

The delegation will also include Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov.
