Hot And Strong Weather, This Is BMKG's Explanation

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) explained the reason why the temperature felt hotter in a number of parts of Indonesia due to the position of the sun has now shifted to the south of the country.

BMKG Deputy for Meteorology Guswanto explained that the ideal temperature for the maximum urban area is 31-34 degrees Celsius.

"Currently, why does it look hot? Because on the south side of the sun now it has shifted to the south of Indonesia," he explained.

"This also causes the growth of rain clouds to be rare in the southern region," he continued.

The lack of cloud growth causes no clouds to cover the sun so that it is felt directly. This causes the temperature to feel very hot in a number of parts of Indonesia.

Regarding the potential for rain, he explained that Indonesia has entered the rainy season since August. However, due to the wide area, the rainy season period is not experienced simultaneously in all regions.

According to BMKG forecasts, around November almost all regions in Indonesia have experienced the rainy season. BMKG also predicts the potential for extreme weather in a number of areas in the next week, including in the North Sumatra region and in the central part of Java.

"Later in December, January, February it will be simultaneously," he explained.

Previously, BMKG forecasts showed high temperatures in a number of cities on Monday (13/10), which ranged from 27 to 35 degrees Celsius. Including Serang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya areas which have a temperature of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
