41 Cipinang Narcotics Prison Prisoners Sent To Nusakambangan Prison

JAKARTA - A total of 41 inmates at the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison were transferred to Nusakambangan Prison, Central Java to maintain stability in security and order.

This transfer activity was carried out based on the Letter of the Director General of Corrections Number: PAS-PK.03.02-1695 dated September 25, 2025 regarding the Approval of the Transfer of Prisoners to Prisons in the Nusakambangan area.

Prior to departure, all inmates underwent a series of strict examinations, including body searches and luggage, medical examinations by medical personnel, and verification of administrative files by registration officers.

The final examination was carried out by security officials to ensure the number and identity of the transferred prisoners according to administrative data.

Head of the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Syarpani, said that this transfer was to break the chain of illicit drug trafficking from behind bars.

"This is not just a transfer, but a strategic step to break the network and negative influences in the prison," he said when confirmed, Monday, October 13, 2025.

The transfer process took place under the strict supervision of the joint apparatus.

The joint forces deployed consisted of officers from the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Brimob personnel, East Jakarta Metro Police, Polda Metro Jaya Patwal, Directorate of Security and Intelligence, and the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections DKI Jakarta.

"We will not give the slightest space for practices that can disrupt security and order in prisons," he said.
