JAKARTA - Thomas Hull, better known for his stage name Kid Harpoon, was lined up as the first Resident Producer at the legendary studio, Abbey Road. This appointment marks a big step, making Harpoon the central figure behind the studio door which gave birth to the masterpiece of The Beatles to Pink Floyd.

Not only that, he will also be actively involved in providing consultations about music technology and innovation in the studio.

One of the cores of Harpoon's new position is the active involvement in Abbey Road's free educational program aimed at future generations of musicians and producers. The program includes Abbey Road Amplify, a workshop and panel series, which this year has expanded its reach to Manchester for the first time.

Apart from Kid Harpoon, industry musicians and specialists such as Everything, Fraser T Smith, tengasy, and Rich Turvey will certainly participate in the Amplify program. A number of other names of industry artists and experts are planned to be announced in the next few weeks.

Producers who helped Miley Cyrus win the Grammys in the Record of the Year category through the song 'Flowers' also saw a common vision between her and Abbey Road.

"Mark and the team really have a desire to contribute and develop new talent, which is something I really like too much," he added. "It's an honor to be able to contribute to Abbey Road's legacy in any way, and I can't wait to get involved immediately."

In addition, Sally Davies as Managing Director of Abbey Road, welcomed Harpoon's presence.

"We are delighted to welcome Kid Harpoon as our first Resident Producer at Abbey Road Studios. He brings a spirit of collaboration and innovation that is in line with our vision," Davies said. Meanwhile, Mark Robertson as Director of Marketing and Creative Abbey Road, emphasized Harpoon's historical ties to the recording studio.

"It's a joy to be able to bring Tom into our home and family. He's already part of our modern history, having worked here for the first time in 2011 with Florence + The Machine," said Robertson.

Robertson also praised Harpoon's global impact. "We have long admired its impact on the global stage" with very creative production skills and the ability to compose moderate melodies and drive the world," added Robertson.

"T Tom's experience, knowledge, and generosity have encouraged and informed our work as we improve our smaller equipment and instruments. We will combine the power to create new opportunities for the next generation of artists, producers and creatives, so I'm very excited about the possibilities with Tom as we write the next chapter in the Abbey Road story," he said.
