Separately, the Head of BMKG Pekanbaru SSK II Station, Irwansyah Nasution, explained that the fog that enveloped the city of Pekanbaru and its surroundings was caused by water vapor in the cooling air.
"This water vapor then turns into fine water grains floating near the ground surface. This process is similar to dew that appears in the glass when exposed to cold air, it just occurs in the open air," he explained.
