RI Records Green Investment Commitment Of IDR 278 Trillion At The ISF Event

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming / Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) confirmed the achievement in the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025, Jakarta, October 10-11 which managed to record a green investment commitment of IDR 278 trillion.

The commitment is contained in 13 memorandums of understanding (MoU) and three strategic declarations, including the clean energy, marine, carbon, forestry, and green infrastructure sectors.

Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM Nurul Ichwan said the various agreements produced by ISF 2025 were concrete forms of involvement in the business world in realizing a sustainable development agenda.

Nurul said that the entire memorandum of understanding, most of which contained investment commitments, although not all of which would be realized this year, and assessed that this achievement was a concrete result of the 2025 ISF forum.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Basic Infrastructure Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Rachmat Kaimuddin, assessed that the signing of the MoU at the ISF is proof that Indonesia is now actively leading the transitional efforts towards a low-carbon economy.

"We hope that the signing of 13 MoUs at the 2025 ISF activity will have a direct impact on achieving the clean energy transition and Indonesia's low-carbon economy. This collaboration shows that Indonesia is no longer in a waiting position, but we are actively leading," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, October 12.

Deputy Chairperson of the Coordinator for Human Development, Culture and Sustainable Development, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Shinta Kamdani emphasized that the business world is ready to become the locomotive of the national green transition.

"Green investment not only strengthens economic growth, but also opens up great opportunities for MSMEs, job creation, and transformation of the national industry towards a more resilient and sustainable direction," he said.

The following is a complete list of MoU signed on ISF:

1.Infrastructure Project Facility Office (IPFO)

- signatories: Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure, ADB, KIT

-The establishment of a strategic infrastructure project facilitation office with technical and financial support from international partners.

-The commitment to support the realization of infrastructure investment worth US$11 billion.

2.Indonesia Incorporated on Seaweed Advancing a Sustainable Blue Economy

-Pentangan : Conservation International, Conservation Indonesia, APINDO, And Standard Chartered

-Focus on developing a sustainable seaweed industry that supports a blue economy, sea restoration, and coastal economic inclusion.

3.Standby Trade & Loan Facility for Dieng 2 Geothermal Power Project

- signatories: PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) & PT Geo Dipa Energi

- Financing support for the development of geothermal energy to accelerate the national clean energy transition.

4.Net Zero Advisory & Solutions Strategic Collaboration

- signatories: BESTARI & Utomodeck Group

-Collaboration in strategic consultation and implementation of decarbonization solutions in the manufacturing and construction sectors.

5. Maritime Infrastructure Partnership for Clean Mobility

- signatories: PT Utomo Bersih Indonesia Mobility, Pyxis Maritime Pte. Ltd

- Cooperation to build low-emission maritime infrastructure, particularly in the context of ports and green boat fleets.

6.Indonesia - Germany Cooperation for Sustainable Development

- signatories: GIZ (Germany) & Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

-The joint initiative strengthens the capacity of the Indonesian private sector towards resilient and carbon-neutral development.

7.Sustainable Forestry-Related Economic Policy and Investment Programs

-Trials for sustainable and multiproduct forest business models, encouraging the role of the private sector in sustainable forest rehabilitation.

8. Carbon Markets Capacity Building

-Improving the capacity of national institutions in designing and implementing credible and transparent carbon markets.

9.Advance Sustainable Paper and Packaging Solutions

-Pentangan : Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) & Lubrizol

- Development of food packaging solutions based on bio-decomposable ingredients that are natural, supports the reduction of plastic waste.

10. STrategic Alliance PI ACWA POWER for Industrial Decarbonization of PI

- signatories: Pupuk Indonesia & ACWA Power

-The transformation of fertilizer industry assets towards low-carbon operations through clean energy technology.

- Potential investment value of up to 250 million US dollars

11. Green Hydrogen Potential for Decarbonization of Maritime Transportation in Small Island

- signatories : GIZ, HDF Energy, Neuman & Esser

- Exploration of green hydrogen potential for decarbonization of sea transportation in remote islands of Indonesia.

12.Sustainable Used Cooking Oil Collection and Other Sustainability Initiatives

- signatories: PT Noovoleum Indonesia Investama & PT Artotel Group Indonesia

- Cooperation in sustainable collection of oil and development of other sustainability initiatives.

13.Advancing sustainable trade & investment corridors between Indonesia / Outeastern Asia and Hong Kong / Greyer China
