Poe Ibu Dedi Mulyadi's Rereongan Program Is Vulnerable To Corruption Crimes

JAKARTA Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Almas Sjafrina assessed that the Sapoe Sarebu (Mother Poe) Rereongan Movement or the joint movement donating Rp1,000 every day initiated by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, was actually close to corruption.

"The policy initiated by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, is actually not necessary. This step is not accountable so it is prone to being misused into corruption," he said, Sunday, October 12, 2025.

He suspected that the Poe Ibu Rereongan movement was a levy wrapped on a voluntary pretext considering that this movement had already been determined the amount and time of delivery. "The amount is determined and there is time (every day), this is a feature of levies, even though it is called voluntary. Moreover, one of the target targets is school/school students. Public schools are only prohibited from making levies, even though it's only a thousand," he added.

Almas reminded West Java residents to have played a role by paying pajar. Thus, the public does not need to 'pay' again on the pretext of helping each other's money. Moreover, the community has also worked together through social contributions, such as BPJS.

"So there is no need for this kind of policy anymore. It is wiser for the West Java Provincial Government to maximize the existing budget for the welfare program of the community," he said.

As is known, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi issued a circular to encourage state civil servants (ASN), school students, and the public to donate Rp1,000 per day. Circular letter number 149 / PMD.03.04 / KESRA concerning the Sapoe Sarebu Rereongan Movement (Mother Poe) or the movement together a thousand day is aimed at regents and mayors throughout West Java, heads of OPD from provinces to cities and regencies, as well as the entire West Java Ministry of Religion Regional Office.

In the circular, which was made on October 1, 2025, Dedi referred to government regulation number 39 of 2012 concerning the implementation of social welfare that people have a role in improving people's welfare through the noble values of national culture, social solidarity and local wisdom.

The Poe Ibu Rereongan Movement Fund, collected through a special account made first by each agency / school / community environment through Bank BJB. In addition, collection, management, distribution, recording and reporting of the use of funds resulting from the reshuffle movement is carried out by Local Managers, both within local governments, other government agencies and the private sector, as well as in schools and the community.

Local managers are fully responsible for the implementation of collection, management, distribution, recording and reporting of funds from the reshuffle movement. Reports are submitted to the public through the Sapawarga/Portal Public Service application prepared by the West Java Provincial Government, and can take advantage of their respective social media accounts.
