Fusion Assessed For Non-Parliamentary Political Party Solutions Qualifying PT

JAKARTA The head of the KIPP caretaker, Brahma Aryana, believes that the non-parpol political party secretariat (parpol) can unite themselves or become a fusion political party to answer the issue of the parliamentary threshold (PT).

"If it's just the plan for the Non-Parliamentary Political Party Secretary to sue again, PT 4 percent is obsolete. This PT discourse should not only lie in adjusting the PT number alone," he said, Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Although the idea of non-parliamentary political parties to sue for PT figures deserves appreciation, if only underlying the issue of obtaining parliamentary seats that fail to be occupied, it is better for political parties in the secretary to look for more realistic alternatives. For example, fused with existing parliamentary parties. Or at least, these political parties can unite themselves into a new political party," added Brahma.

According to him, if non-parliamentary political parties basically think PT 4 percent makes contestation heavy because political costs are high and bring to transactional politics in determining candidates, then it is appropriate to fix yourself by making political party fusion.

"It must be designed sustainably, maintain proportionality, be placed within the framework of simplification of the party, and involve meaningful public participation," concluded Brahma.
