Two 2-story Houses Used As Rented Places Allegedly Burned By Elderly Men In Tanjung Priok

JAKARTA - Two-tier houses that were rented out on Jalan Papanggo 3, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta, were burned down on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

According to residents, the fire was allegedly caused by an elderly man who set fire to a rented room hordeng, suspected of committing suicide.

"Allegedly due to the burning of the house by the elderly. The identity of the perpetrator is not yet known," said one resident who declined to be named, Sunday, October 12, 2025.

The 2 houses that were rented had different rooms. The first house that caught fire had 3 doors to the rented room that were affected. Meanwhile, the second house that caught fire had 2 doors to the rented room that caught fire.

The two houses are known to belong to a local resident. Currently, the location of the fire has been installed with a police line.

Luckily there were no casualties in the fire incident. However, the area of the burned area was around 60 square meters with losses reaching Rp 800 million.

The process of extinguishing the fire is thought to have been hampered due to narrow road access. However, the extinguishing process was successfully carried out by North Jakarta firefighters.

Meanwhile, the fire case is still under investigation by the Tanjung Priok Police.
