The School Kitchen Concept Is Expected To Improve The Implementation Of MBG
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR, Then Hadrian Irfani supports the proposal of the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti regarding the possibility of implementing the Free Nutritioning Program (MBG) through the concept of school kitchens or school kitchens.
According to him, the concept opens up opportunities for schools that have the capacity to manage themselves the provision of nutritious food, of course with the conditions and standards set, including the eligibility assessment of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). In addition, the concept of a school kitchen is a progressive approach and in accordance with the spirit of decentralization of education.
Then reveal, the flexibility in the implementation of MBG through the school kitchen, provides space for schools to adjust the menu to the availability of local materials and geographical conditions, so that this program can be more adaptive and sustainable.

"The House of Representatives Commission X will encourage regulations regarding the management of MBG which will be issued to include technical provisions for the implementation of school kitchens, nutritional quality standards, food safety, coaching mechanisms, as well as incentive schemes for schools that pass the BGN assessment," he added.
In addition, Commission X will continue to oversee the process of discussing MBG regulations and ensure that budget allocations for the implementation of school kitchens are available, both from the central and regional APBD, as well as facilitating training on school kitchen management and food sanitation.
"In the end, our common goal is to ensure that every child gets enough nutritious intake to grow healthy and ready to learn. From the DPR's point of view, the idea of a school kitchen is one of the smart ways to create an effective and sustainable MBG," concluded Lalu.
