Thrown From The Twin Bridge, UNM Students Found Dead In The Jeneberang River
JAKARTA - The Joint SAR team has found the body of Nur Ichsan (21), a Makassar State University (UNM) student who allegedly had a single accident crashing into a sidewalk barrier while driving and being thrown from the Twin Bridge, fell into the Jeneberang River, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi.
"It was found last night. The victim was found for the first time after residents saw his body on the surface. So we immediately deployed the team using a rubber boat to the scene," said Makassar Basarnas Coordinator Team Commander Wawan Setiawan, Saturday night, October 11.
When found for the first time, the victim was evacuated using a bamboo raft, then put in a body bag, and transferred to a rubber boat by the Joint SAR Team to the edge of the Jeneberang river, then taken by ambulance to the funeral home, Cambaya Hamlet, Panciro Village, Bajeng District, Gowa.
The discovery of the victim's body is about 20 meters from the crime scene (TKP) where he fell from the Gowa Twin Bridge. The search process lasted for 18 hours by the Joint SAR team.
"When found, the victim was still wearing his clothes according to the report. He was found dead. His body had been handed over to the family to be taken to the funeral home," said Wawan.
From the information obtained, the victim had a single accident. On the way back to his home from Makassar to Gowa Regency on Saturday morning at around 01.21 WITA.

"The information is that the victim was on her way back to her house and her friend saw the victim fall from her motorbike from the Twin Bridge. From the beginning, we received the report, we have conducted a good search with divers, to comb several points and use drones," he said.
The Joint Team involved in finding victims consists of Makassar Basarnas personnel, TNI-Polri, Gowa BPBD SAR, Gowa Fire Department and other SAR potentials. After the discovery of the victim's body, the SAR operation was declared closed.
The victim's colleague, Asrul Yusuf said, initially together in the Tallasalapang area, Makassar City, it's just that the victim went home first. Later, it was reported that he fell from a bridge.
"He fell, my friend. Fell down in the water (river). From Tallasapang first, I was both there. Just go home first for him. He was found to have fallen first," said Asrul.
The process of searching for victims invites reaction from motorists to witness the evacuation. The axis road that connects Gowa Regency to Takalar Regency has been completely jammed for several hours.
