Motorcycle Sales In Indonesia September 2025 Drop 1.8 Percent
JAKARTA The national motorcycle market experienced another decline in September 2025. This is based on data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) quoted on Saturday, October 11. Last month's sales were recorded at 567,173 units, down about 1.8 percent compared to August which reached 578,041 units.
This means that there is a difference of around 10,868 units between the two months. Despite experiencing a monthly decline, cumulatively for the period January to September 2025, motorcycle sales in the country still show solid performance with a total of 4,836,891 units.
This figure confirms that people's purchasing power for two-wheeled vehicles remains high, even though they are faced with economic fluctuations and the dynamics of the automotive market. Previously, the General Chairperson of AISI, Johannes Loman, had also ensured that his party would maintain the annual sales target set since the end of last year.

He added that the prospects for the two-wheel industry in the second half of this year were still quite positive. We believe that usually historically the second semester is higher than the first semester. Then secondly, we also see a fairly stable commodity price and visible market growth outside Java," he continued.
If detailed per month, motorcycle sales from 2025 to September recorded a fluctuating trend: January (560,301 units), February (581,277 units), March (541,684 units), April (406,691 units), May (505,350 units), June (509,326 units), July (587,048 units), August (578,041 units), and September (567,173 units).
In terms of segments, the scutik motor is still the prima donna with a market share of more than 90 percent. Meanwhile, the motorcycle and sport segments continue to show a decline in demand, along with changes in consumer preferences towards vehicles that are more practical and efficient.
Despite the slight pressure in September, AISI remains optimistic that the Indonesian motorcycle market will rebound by the end of the year. With stable commodity price support and increased demand from outside Java, the association believes the sales target of up to 6.7 million units is still very realistic to achieve by 2025.
