Trump Promises Not To Let Israel Break The Deal In Gaza

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump promised his government would not allow Israel to violate the ceasefire agreement reached this week, Axios reported on Friday (10/10).

According to the report, Trump's Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have conveyed to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas through Turkey Egypt, and Qatar as mediators that Trump will ensure the implementation of his proposed peace plan.

While citing two US officials who spoke anonymously, Axios said that Trump's guarantee included the formation of a US-led task force to monitor the ceasefire and deal with any violations that occurred.

The task force will reportedly work at a headquarters in Israel involving 200 US soldiers and officers. Military officers from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates are also expected to join the mission.

The Axios report also mentions how Israel had previously violated the ceasefire deal reached in March.

One US official said there was enormous distrust between the two warring sides and Trump wanted to emphasize that the deal was very important to him.

Trump "wanted to end the bloodshed" and wanted to make sure all parties carried out the deal well, the official said.
