PLN Supply 30 Million VA Electricity To GSM Gold Mine In Gorontalo

PT PLN (Persero) supplies 30,000,000 volt ampere (VA) electricity to PT Gorontalo Sejahtera Mining (GSM), a subsidiary of PT Merdeka Gold Resources (MGR) who is involved in the Golden Pani project.

President Director of PT MGR and PT GSM Boyke Poerbaya Abidin said the connection of 30 million VA VA began to be constructed in January 2025.

"Within 10 months, 38 towers were successfully built, and today the electricity can operate 3 months ahead of schedule," Boyke said, quoted on Saturday, October 11.

PLN's Retail and Commerce Director Adi Priyanto explained, in meeting PT GSM's needs, PLN has built important infrastructure in the form of the Marisa 150 kilovolt (kV) Main Substation (extension) and the 150 kV Marisa High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) network for 26.6 kilometers. In the future, this service will be even more complete with the presence of the planned second (bay line) channel.

At the request of PT GSM to accelerate the first distribution in October 2025, PLN answered this challenge seriously. Today we should be grateful because this acceleration can be realized according to the target, a clear proof of our commitment and collaboration together," he continued.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Main Unit Distribution of North, Central Sulawesi and Gorontalo (UID Suluttenggo), Usman Bangun, emphasized that his party is ready to provide reliable electricity for industrial areas.

"We will continue to ensure reliability of supply in order to maintain customer satisfaction while at the same time encouraging regional economic growth," concluded Usman.
