BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition: Legendary Legacy 2002 Turbo With Modern Balutan

JAKARTA - BMW presents M2 Turbo Design Edition, a special edition that pays tribute to the iconic BMW 2002 Turbo car from the 1970s. Present with a classic look combined with a modern touch typical of division M, this model will certainly be hunted by collectors when it starts production in January 2026.

BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition looks striking with tricolor M stripping painted directly on the body, stretching from the front to the trunk cover. Its exterior colors are only available in Alpine White, inspired by the classic color choices of its predecessor Chamonix White and Polaris Metallic Silver.

No less interesting, the graphics turbo on the engine hood is written upside down so that it can be read correctly from the windshield, exactly like the one of 2002 Turbo. This design symbolizes the spirit of the legendary BMW racing era.

On the interior, the nuances of sporty and exclusive are so thick. The black Vernasca skin-coated sport jok is combined with dark carbon trims on the dashboard and doors. Another special knife is the stepping of the bright door that reads M2 Turbo, giving a luxurious and modern impression.

Quoted by Caranddriver, Saturday, October 11, BMW also offers M Carbon bucket seats at an additional price of around Rp74.8 million.

In terms of performance, BMW still maintains a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine with twin-turbos that generates 473 hp of power.

Power is channeled through manual transmission of six accelerations, without automatic options in order to maintain the classic driving sensation that characterizes the M series. Acceleration is claimed to be able to penetrate 0100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, with a peak speed of 250 km/hour.

For those who want extra power, there is an M Driver package that can increase the top speed up to 284 km/hour with an additional cost of around Rp41.5 million. According to BMW Products Division Manager Frank Weber, M2 Turbo Design Edition will be produced in very limited quantities, making it one of BMW's most exclusive collectible models in recent years.

Although the exact amount has not been stated, this unit is expected to run out quickly when it starts selling in 2026. The BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition is priced at around USD 84,075 or equivalent to IDR 1.39 billion, which is more expensive at around 17,400 US dollars compared to the standard version of the M2.
