Geely Xingyuan 2026 Ready To Launch With Further Design And Distance Update
JAKARTA Geely will introduce Xingyuan 2026 on October 10 in China. This electric car comes with a number of design updates and possible performance improvements to strengthen its position in the global electric vehicle market.
This model is also known as Geely's version of the Proton eMas 5, which was previously introduced in Malaysia, as quoted from Paultan, Friday, October 10. In terms of appearance, Xingyuan 2026 appears more modern with a black panel on the C pillar which is now decorated with a star-shaped motif, in line with the meaning of the name Xingyuan which means stellar hope.
On the interior, Geely presents a new touch in the form of shiny black decorations with meteorite patterns, replacing the graphics of the city horizon in the previous version. This touch gives a futuristic impression without eliminating Geely's distinctive elegant feel.
Interestingly, the design now makes Xingyuan 2026 more similar to Proton eMas 5. Although different brands and steering positions, both have an exterior and almost identical interior look.
This shows Geely's strategy in strengthening platform collaboration with Proton for design and production efficiency. The manufacturer also introduced a new color for the 2026 model, namely the light purple, which complements other pastel color choices such as blue, green, pink, cream, white, gray, and silver.

There has been no official statement regarding changes to the energy sector. However, the news said that Geely had the potential to pin an enhanced battery and electric motor system so that the range could be further.
In comparison, the standard Xingyuan variant currently uses CATL LFP batteries with a capacity of 30.12 kWh which produces 79 PS and 130 Nm torque with a range of about 225 km (WLTP). Meanwhile, the long range version has a 40.16 kWh battery with 116 PS power and 150 Nm torque, as well as a range of up to 325 km.
For the Malaysian market, the Proton eMas 5 which shares a base with Xingyuan is priced from RM 60,000 to RM 80,000, or equivalent to Rp228 million to Rp304 million. This price is considered quite competitive for the compact electric vehicle segment, especially for young consumers who are looking for efficient and stylish cars.
