The Attorney General's Office Responds To The News That The North Sulawesi Silfester Is In Jakarta: It Has Been Wanted But Has Not Been Found

The Attorney General's Office responded to the news of the convict in the alleged slander against the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, Silfester Matutina, who was in Jakarta.

The news of the whereabouts of the General Chair of the Red and White Solidarity (Solmet) was conveyed by his lawyer, Lechumanan, to the media crew on Thursday (9/10), in the midst of the South Jakarta District Attorney's efforts to find the person concerned to be executed in prison.

"If the legal advisor is please have an opinion. But, as good law enforcers, we uphold each other well, please help if we can be presented. He said, right, it is in Jakarta," said Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 10.

Anang revealed that the execution prosecutor at the South Jakarta Kejari encountered problems so that he had not found the whereabouts of the Silfester.

"We've been looking for it, but haven't found it yet," he said.

However, he ensured that the executor prosecutor had his own strategy to find the Silfester.

"We'll just have to wait. We're looking for it too. Those are steps. Later what is clear is that the South Jakarta Kejari has taken legal steps in accordance with the provisions," he said.

On Thursday (9/10), a lawyer from Silfester Matutina, Lechumanan, revealed that his client is currently in Jakarta.

"The point is, Mr. Silfester is in Jakarta," he said.

He also believes that the execution of his client cannot be carried out because the case has expired because it has been more than five years.

Silfester Matutina has been convicted of alleged cases of spreading slander against the former 10th and 12th Vice Presidents,Jusuf Kalla.

He is suspected of spreading slander about Jusuf Kalla during his speech. This case occurred in 2017.

For his actions, Silfester was sentenced to 1 year in prison by the first instance court. Against the verdict, Silfester filed an appeal.

However, at the cassation level, the Silfester verdict was increased to 1.5 years in prison in 2018. Until now, he has not been executed for the verdict.

Then, in mid-August 2025, Silfester submitted a PK at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

However, Silfester was unable to attend the PK application hearing because he was sick.

By the South Jakarta District Court Judge, Silfester is considered not to exercise his right to attend the trial in a request for reconsideration and not to be serious in submitting applications.

The judge also stated that the PK Silfester application was rejected.
