Palembang Polrestabes Arrested A Gang Of Bersajam Robbers Who Targeted Motorbike Mothers
Palembang Police, South Sumatra arrested a gang of robbers consisting of three suspects targeting motorbike riders.
Palembang Police Chief Kombes Harryo Sugihhartono said his party together with the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the South Sumatra Police (Sumsel), succeeded in uncovering cases of theft with violence (curas) or robbery that occurred in several locations in Palembang City.
Three suspects with the initials M (30), O (24) and R (25) were arrested by officers at three different locations, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Disclosure of this case is the result of investigations from a number of police reports, including reports from LPB/3085/X/2025, LPB/371/X/2025 and LPB/591/X/2025, related to criminal acts of theft in the Kemuning, Alang-Alang Lebar and Ilir Barat I Palembang areas.
"The three incidents occurred on September 23 and October 7, 2025, with most of the victims being traders and housewives who were active in the morning," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 10.
The perpetrators carried out their actions by pickpocketing the victim on the road, then seizing goods or motorbikes using sharp weapons. One of the victims was injured by a sharp weapon while trying to defend his vehicle.
Of the three perpetrators, he said, two perpetrators had to be shot by the police for resisting arrests.
Currently, the perpetrators have been detained and named as suspects in the crime of theft with violence, entangled in Article 365 of the Criminal Code.
