TEMANGGUNG - The discovery of the body of a child in a house in Bejen Village, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, is suspected of being a victim of domestic violence (KDRT).
This case went viral on social media and invited waves of mourning from netizens. The victim was taken to a shaman or a smart person to be groomed because of his naughty temperament.
"The body of the child with the initials ALH (7) is suspected of being a victim of domestic violence, and until last night we were still conducting investigations", said Temanggung Police Chief AKBP Benny Setyowadi in Temanggung, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 18.
Benny said that while the case was based on the influence of persuasion by H, who was known as a shaman. H told the victim's parents and B to see the condition of ALH, who was believed to be naughty at that time, because of the influence of supernatural beings so that it needed to be tampered with.
"Releasing Ceremony is in the form of a child drowning in water and then picked up. That's a temporary motive", he said again.
The victim allegedly died about 4 months ago. The position of the corpse was in the room, the condition was dry, only skin and bones. Benny said, while those who were secured in connection with this case were still 4 people, namely the initials M who was the victim's father, then S the victim's biological mother, besides H and B.
"Most of the witnesses are from Bejen Village, and investigators are carrying out activities to process the scene of the case (TKP) more thoroughly, hopefully, there will be further developments", he also said.
He said the articles to be suspected in the case were Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, Article 76 letter C and Article 80. Then a subsidiary of Article 44 of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning Domestic Violence and Article 338 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of 15 years or a fine IDR 3 billion.
