Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak Officially Works In Microsoft And Anthropic
JAKARTA Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has officially joined two major technology companies. Sunak is now working for the companies Anthropic and Microsoft.
In his announcement on LinkedIn, Sunak said that he was a senior advisor to the two companies. Although now working for two companies, Sunak is still a member of the British Parliament.
At Anthropic, Sunak will work as a part-time advisor focused on internal affairs. The company, supported by Google and Amazon, also said that Sunak's role had complied with the provisions of the Advisory Committee on Business Appointment (ACOBA).
Sunak will advise on macroeconomic, and geopolitical strategies. The focus is on global strategic issues and does not include UK specific policies. Sunak is prohibited from contacting British government officials on behalf of Anthropic.
Similar to Anthropic, Sunak will provide a strategic perspective on macroeconomic and geopolitical trends in Microsoft. Sunak's role in the company also includes as a speaker at Microsoft Summit's upcoming annual event.

These two positions have been confirmed through a letter of advice from the interim chairman of ACOBA, Total Doverty. The letter describes the strict rules that Sunak must comply with while working with the company.
The former prime minister was barred from lobbying the two companies for two years since his last term in office. He is also not allowed to take advantage of any special information from his tenure in government.
Sunak also stated that the income from his new job will be fully donated. The funds will be channeled to Thetandom Project, a charity founded by Sunak with his wife Akshata Murty.
