Police Confirm Identity Of Body On Tikus Island Is Victim Of Ship Accident On Bokor Island

JAKARTA - The identification results of the unidentified man's body which was found floating in the waters of Tikus Island, Pari Island Village, can finally be revealed by the Thousand Islands Police Identification Team.

Thousand Islands Police Chief AKBP Arga Dija Putra said the victim was identified as Jaenudin MZ (33) alias Udin who was a victim of KM Usaha Baru who had disappeared on Tuesday, October 7 when the ship sank on Bokor Island.

"Yes, it is true (the identity of the body named Udin). Earlier the family had arrived. From the body and clothes used (the victim when he was missing) it was the same," said AKBP Arga Dija when confirmed by VOI, Friday, October 10, 2025.

The victim's body was found at around 11.55 WIB after receiving information from local fishermen who saw the victim's body floating around the waters of Pari Island.

The joint SAR team then carried out the evacuation process for the victim's body to Pari Island.

The joint SAR team also coordinated with the victim's family to ensure that the body was the victim they were looking for.

Finally, the family stated that the unidentified corpse was Udin's body.

Head of the Operations Section of the Jakarta SAR Office, Akhmad Rizkiansah, said the victim was found by the joint SAR team this afternoon.

"The body was evacuated to Pari Island for further submission to the family," he added when confirmed.

Previously, the search for victims was carried out using a fleet of seas to conduct sweeps around the waters of Ayer Island, Pari Island, Ayer Kecil Island, Karang Beras Island, and Tunda Island.

Dozens of joint SAR personnel were deployed in an effort to search for victims, including the Jakarta SAR Office, the Mutiara Beach Basarnas crew, the Taun Jawa Navy Post, the Untung Island Polair Post, the Tanjung Priok VTS, the Cituis KSOP, the TNI AL Tanjung Kait Post, the Pari Island Post Fire Department, the Pari Island Transportation Agency, the Pari Island Polair, the Muara Baru KKP, the Untung Jawa Police, the DMC Dompet Dhuafa, the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Bakamla RI, and local fishermen.

And the marine fleets deployed in the third day of SAR operation are KN SAR Antasena, RBB 01 Jakarta, RIB Damkar Pulau Pari, KNP 348 KPLP, KP VII 1020 Polair, KP VII 1006 Polair, KP VII 203, and fishing boats.

The New Business KM accident occurred on Tuesday morning, October 7, 2025. The fishing boat, which departed from Cituis Port, Tangerang, was hit by high waves and extreme weather, causing the ship to capsize around the waters of Bogor Island, Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta.

Seven people were found safe and one person was found dead on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
