Mental Health Day 2025: WHO Calls For Support For Conflict And Disaster Victims

JAKARTA - Every October 10 is commemorated by World Mental Health Day or World Mental Health Day. This year, the commemoration falls today, Friday, October 10, 2025.

Quoted from the official website of the World Health Organization (WHO), the theme for World Mental Health Day 2025 is 'Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencys' or 'Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergency'.

The theme was chosen at this year's commemoration to focus on urgent needs to support the mental health and psychosocial needs of the community, especially those affected by the humanitarian emergency.

Crisiss such as natural disasters, major conflicts, and health emergencies can cause emotional stress. These conditions even cause one in five people to experience mental health conditions that are disturbed.

By supporting individual mental well-being during a crisis that threatens, it can save lives. Mental support also gives individuals the strength to survive, the space to heal, restore, and rebuild, not only as individuals but also as communities.

Therefore, it is very important for all parties to work together to continue to echo the importance of mental health. Starting from government officials, health and social service providers, school staff, and community groups to unite.

By working together, WHO says we can ensure those most vulnerable have access to the support they need, while protecting everyone's welfare.

It should also be remembered that people with serious mental health conditions should not be left without care and support. Continuation of care is a priority during and after any emergency.

Here are some messages conveyed through World Mental Health Day 2025 launched by WHO:
