So The World Food Barn Is Not A Dream, 2025 Indonesia Swasembada Pangan

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman was summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, October 9.

In the limited meeting (ratas), Andri Amran explained regarding the development of the food security program. To reporters, the Minister of Agriculture explained that the target of food self-sufficiency will be achieved in the near future. Amran said, in the next two to three months, Indonesia will not import food.

According to Amran, the acceleration of the target is accompanied by encouraging production achievements. Based on BPS data, national rice production until November 2025 reached 33.1 million tons and is estimated to increase to 34 million tons by the end of the year. This figure is up 4 million tons compared to the previous year.

According to Minister Amran, President Prabowo also paid great attention to improving farmers' welfare. In addition to increasing production, the government has recorded improvements in farmer welfare indicators.

Amran explained that the Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) has now reached 124.36. This value exceeds the government's target of 110. Meanwhile, rice prices deflated 0.13 percent in September 2025, which was the first time in five years.

This positive performance is the basis for optimism for the agricultural sector to continue strengthening in other sub-sectors.

After the achievement of rice production shows an increase, the government has begun to prepare further steps to expand similar results on other strategic commodities.
