Ministry Of Public Works Checks Building Construction At Islamic Boarding School Lirboyo Kediri
KEDIRI - The Ministry of Public Works checks the construction of a santri building at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School in Kediri City, East Java, to ensure good construction so that it is safe.
The Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works, Dewi Chomistriana, said that she deliberately came to the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School in Kediri City following up on instructions from the government regarding the collapse of the building at the Al Khoziny Sidoarjo Islamic Boarding School.
"We followed up on the collapse of the cottage building in Sidoarjo, so we were instructed to audit the building," he said in Kediri, Thursday, October 9.
He explained that the team conducted an audit of the building from Wednesday (8/10) to Saturday (11/10). The process involved a team of experts in the field. The team checked the buildings that had been established and were in the construction stage.
For buildings that have been established, checking the age of the building is carried out. At the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, there are buildings over 100 years and even 200 years old, so that the building checks are quite old.
In addition, there are also checks on the number of students, especially those with more than 1,000 students. At the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, there are around 50 thousand students, so it is necessary to pay attention to building construction.
From the results of the initial audit, at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri City, for building planning, it was quite good, there was only a few reinforcement that had to be done, especially to strengthen the walls.
"Dan, kami sudah memberikan sedikit rekomendasi ke pemikir yang sedang bekerja dan santri yang menjadi pengawas. Mudah-mudahan bisa meningkatkan kualitas dari pekerjaan selanjutnya," kata dia.
He said the number of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia was quite large, up to more than 42 thousand Islamic boarding schools.
However, the Ministry of Public Works also has representatives in each province and there are centers in each province, so that they can synergize with local governments to supervise the stages of construction and those being built.
Meanwhile, the caretaker of the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School Kediri KH Oing Abdul Muid appreciated the visit from the Ministry of Public Works to this pesantren.
