Indra Sjafri Wants To Find The Best Composition Of Indonesia U-23 Through A Trial Against India

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, made two test agendas against India U-23 on 10 and 13 October 2025 as a momentum to find the best quality of his players.

After being officially appointed by PSSI to become the U-23 Indonesia coach for the 2025 SEA Games, Indra admitted that he already had 50 players who had been registered to appear in Bangkok, Thailand.

From the list of 50 names, most were summoned in the training camp which was also the team's preparation agenda.

In the training camp where there are also two test agendas, the coach uses it to find out in-depth information about each player.

"This (against India) is a trial in order to find the best format, the 23 best players for the SEA Games (2025), also gradually and in the process of looking for the 11 best players."

"Therefore, the appearance of the U-23 Indonesian national team tomorrow (against India) is an initial performance, not an appearance that is ready at the 2025 SEA Games," said Indra Sjafri during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, October 9, 2025.

As a form of seriousness in exploring the best potential of players, Indra Sjafri conducted a number of tests. One of them is a DNA talent test that is carried out so that all the required data is obtained in full.

"The test programs that I did, including yesterday I did a talent DNA test because I wanted to know exactly who I appointed was really competent."

"I don't want to be accused by the public and can't account for the players I chose. Therefore, I instruct the staff to collect the necessary data," said the coach.

The 2025 SEA Games will take place on 9-20 December 2025 in Thailand. With the status of defending the soccer sport, Indra Sjafri wants the U-23 Indonesian national team to be able to win a gold medal again.
