Leaders Of Anti-Corruption Organizations Squeeze 5 Heads Of Village In Banyumas With Hundreds Of Million Money, Threat: Built up Or Destroyed!

BANYUMAS - Investigators of the Banyumas City Police Criminal Investigation Unit detained the Chairman of the Provincial Leadership Council of the Central Java Corruption Eradication Movement (GNPK), Subroto. Subroto is suspected of extorting 5 village heads.

"The suspect on behalf of Siswo Subroto MH aka Subroto MH aka Broto (57) is currently being detained at the Banyumas Police", said Head of Police, Police Commissioner Berry, quoted from Antara in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Tuesday, May 18.

Subroto was detained on suspicion of a criminal act of extortion with violence or threats of violence subsidiary to extortion with threats of blasphemy or threats of disclosing more secrets.

This is regulated in Article 368 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary 369 of the Criminal Code, more than the subsidiary of the 335 KUHP with a maximum imprisonment of nine years.

"We are detaining based on sufficient evidence, in the case of circumstances that raise concerns that the suspect will run away, destroy or lose evidence, and/or repeat the act", he said.

Police  Criminal Investigation Unit Banyumas handled an alleged extortion case that was reported by the Banyumas Village Heads Association on Monday, April 26, and followed up with a victim's report on Wednesday, April 28.

In this case, the victim on behalf of Wagiyah (54) who is the Head of Sibrama Village, Kemranjen Subdistrict, reported a case of alleged extortion committed by an unscrupulous Chairman of an anti-corruption NGO with the initials SS.

Wagiyah admitted that he was forced to hand over IDR 65 million in cash which was handed over twice, IDR 20 million and IDR 45 million respectively to the reported through an intermediary with the initials A because he was afraid.

"I am afraid because there is a threat 'if the village head does not want to build up, he will be destroyed, if it is not allowed to be borrowed (APBDes, ed.) For a while, four hours, no problem, tomorrow someone will take it from the prosecutor's office.'

Apart from Wagiyah, four other village heads also gave money to the reported party, namely Petarangan Village Head, Grujugan Village Head, Sibalung Village Head, and Karanggintung Village Head, Kemranjen District. The total money handed overreached IDR 375 million.

In connection with the report, the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit investigated 17 witnesses including the head of the village and his liaison followed by the determination of the suspect. Furthermore, Subroto underwent examination as a suspect on Monday, April.
