Queen Becomes The Most Listened Rock Artist In Great Britain Throughout The 21st Century

JAKARTA - The legendary band Queen has been named the rock artist whose work has been most screened in England throughout the 21st century. This achievement is very important, considering that most of their work was born in the previous century.

According to the new charts released by PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited) In order to welcome Queen's upcoming 2025 National Album Day for the last 25 years has garnered screening durations on radio and television that exceed 400 million seconds. This figure is equivalent to 12.5 years of relentless playback.

Responding to this prestigious award, Queen guitarist Brian May expressed his admiration.

"Shocking news! Given that most of Queen's great work was completed in the 20th century. It was extraordinary that we managed to top the list of the 21st century," May said, quoted by NME, Thursday, October 9.

"Thank you profusely to all of our fans," he continued.

Peter Leahem OBE, Chief Executive Officer of PPL, added that the charts underscore how rock music from decades has remained victorious in the UK.

Behind Queen, the late David Bowie occupied the position of second most-played rock artist, ahead of U2 and Oasis.
