Now, Billboard has confirmed that The Life Of A Showgirl has obtained only 3.5 million album units in the US. Of the total, 3.2 million units come from traditional album sales (physical and digital purchases), while the remaining 300,000 units are related to streaming.

In response to this chaos, Swift spoke with Zane Lowe of Apple Music and welcomed the dynamics.
"I welcome the mess. Show business rules are if this is the first week of the release of my album, and you mention my name or the title of my album, you help," Swift said, quoted by NME, Thursday, October 9.
Swift continued, "I really respect people's subjective opinions about art. I'm not an art policeman. Everyone is allowed to feel exactly what they want and our goal as an entertainer is to be a mirror. Often an album is a very, very wild way to see yourself' what you're going through in your life will affect whether you're related to the music I'm releasing at any given moment."
He also highlighted how fan perceptions of his work could change over time.
"I played for the long term. I really paid attention to the legacy when I made my music 'I know what I made, I know I like it. I know that on the theme of what 'Showgirl' is, all of this is part of it," concluded Swift.
