Modest Fashion Indonesia Strengthens The Nation's Image In The World
JAKARTA - The modest fashion or polite clothing industry is now growing rapidly and is one of the most influential creative sectors in Indonesia. Known for its polite style of dress, modest fashion reflects the cultural values, spirituality, and creativity typical of Indonesia.
This trend is not only in demand at home, but has also attracted international attention through the work of local designers who are able to combine traditional turmoil with a global touch.
Moreover, with the wealth of wastra Nusantara such as batik, weaving, and songket, Indonesia has great potential to become a center of world modest fashion that inspires and strengthens the image of the nation.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa said the modest fashion industry has a strategic role in in introducing Indonesia to the international arena, not only through design creativity, but also as part of cultural diplomacy and tourism.
"The modest fashion industry does not just drive the economy, but also plays an important role in shaping the image of Indonesian tourism and culture in the eyes of the world," said Ni Luh in a speech via video at the International Modest Fashion (IN2MOTION) Festival in Jakarta, recently.
According to him, Indonesia has a cultural heritage that is very rich and can be an unlimited source of inspiration for fashion industry players. The use of traditional fabrics such as weaving, songket, and batik in modern fashion modest designs is a symbol of harmony between ancestral heritage and today's innovations.

Through the IN2MOTION Festival, various works based on the archipelago were featured in contemporary styles that were able to compete in the international market. This event is expected not only to be a fashion stage, but also a strategic bridge to introduce Indonesia as a center of world creativity that upholds diversity and values of spirituality.
"This modest fashion festival is expected to be a cultural ambassador that introduces weaving, songket, and batik in modern packaging that is full of love on the global stage," said Ni Luh.
He also hopes that IN2MOTION Fest 2025 can be a forum for inspiration for the younger generation, encourage creative economic growth, and open up opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the fields of tourism and fashion.
Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya assessed that the One Vision, One Movement: Advancing Indonesia Modest Fashion Through Synergy & Collaboration event is an important momentum to strengthen Indonesia's position as one of the world's most fashion centers to be reckoned with.
"Let's continue to collaborate and innovate to build a globally resilient fashion ecosystem, with the spirit of the new engine of growth, making modest fashion an important part of the creative economy and the national growth engine," said Teuku Riefky.
The modest fashion fashion fashion show in Indonesia was held at the JIEXPO Convention Center and Theater, Jakarta, on October 8'12 2025, featuring more than 214 national designers, 11 international designers, and 1,600 collections of collaboration works between fashion industry players, craftsmen, and other creative business actors.
