Ragunan Night Is Officially Opened October 11, This Is The Tariff

JAKARTA - The Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR) will officially open tours at night with the "Night at The Ragunan Zoo" program, starting on Saturday, October 11.

Ragunan tours at night will be operated every Saturday night, from 18.00 to 22.00 WIB. Visitors who want to go around seeing nocturnal animals are required to use an e-car service that is rented for IDR 250,000 per hour with a capacity of five people.

"We have carried out simulations and thorough studies related to the technical implementation of night operations at the Ragunan Zoo," said Head of the TMR Management Unit Endah Rumiyati in a statement, Thursday, October 9.

Later, visitors will be invited to tour several designated nocturnal animal cages. At that location, there will be attractions for feeding animals and education by zookeepers with different schedules every week.

Endah admitted that not all animals can be shown in this activity. Managers choose the type of animal that is active at night so that this activity does not interfere with the welfare of other animals in the area.

"We ensure that the animals displayed still feel comfortable and not disturbed by visitor activities," said Endah.

To support night operations, the manager also prepares various supporting infrastructures, such as street lighting, lighting in animal areas, and night picnic areas.

In addition, security officers and field guides will always be on guard and monitor visitor activities during operating hours.

Some time ago, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed his plan to allow Ragunan to be visited at night.

If Ragunan's night tour is operated, Pramono believes that Jakarta residents no longer need to travel to zoos at long distances like Safari Park.

"The place is better than Safari. Even closer and people don't need to stick to the top. So, thus making choices for Jakarta residents to enjoy it more," said Pramono, Thursday, August 14.

Although it needs careful preparation, Pramono believes that the opening of Ragunan at night can be carried out. This is because many countries have applied it, such as Singapore, Korea, to Japan.

"If it is later opened, Ragunan will have an area of 127 hectares, compared to Singapore, which is only 28 hectares, then almost 5 times. Singapore can do it, it can also be opened at night," said Pramono.
